i've been terrorized by this debt collector agency named ic system which has been calling me 6 times per day in the past 2 days. they were looking for my bro and when i asked for what concerns they were having with bro, they refused to say anything. eventually i got really annoyed and called them back, demanding my number to be unlisted. they agreed though it got a little ugly since i raised my voice. and you know what? they called back 2 hours later! i just ignored the call, contacted the customer service of my phone provider, requesting for the number to be blocked permanently from my phone. (neh, the provider can only block the number for 60 days)
i've noticed this $12 monthly charge with the description of 'shopper discount'. i was totally bemused for i never remembered having a recurring payment of $12 to any agency. and one tips for everybody: google is powerful! i just typed in the description and voila! there's this forum about this particular credit card charge and they gave ya a number to cancel those charges. refund was processed, i was happy that i found out what it's for. apparently when you buy something through buy.com, there is this page with offers to sign up for discount coupons right after the checkout page. i didn't remember checking anything off, so that must be a fraud. unless you are smart enough to figure out how to cancel this thing, chances are...you will be charged $12 monthly for the rest of your life! gasp. by the way, google has been my savior for the debt collector too. i just typed in the number and another forum showed up with this subject.
so takeaway point? do your research from google!!! but don't misuse it. my teammate found our project case solution online and he sorta used it for our team's solution. i am totally mad by his smarty pants action. if he completely copies everything word by word, i will give him a piece of my mind.
off to see dark knight. review has been excellent, so my expectation is high.
